Lookfantastic is built as a broad online beauty retailer and advertises more than 660 premium and trending brands across skincare, haircare, cosmetics and fragrance. Its strength is the mixed basket: perfume alongside shampoo, skincare or electrical beauty products, often under one promotion.

For fragrance, Lookfantastic is worth checking when:

• a mainstream designer or body mist is participating in a site promotion;
• you are already building a larger beauty basket;
• Beauty Plus+ points and credit will be used before expiry;
• the desired size or refill appears in stock there but not elsewhere.

Its Beauty Plus+ programme awards points that can become account credit, with tiers and expiry rules. Calculate value from benefits you will actually redeem. A high points figure is not an immediate cash discount.

Where Sephora UK is stronger

Sephora's main advantage is assortment and experience rather than a promise to be cheapest. KAYALI and Fenty Fragrance are examples of ranges that make Sephora a natural first check. At the time of review, KAYALI Vanilla 28 and Capri in a Bottle were available in travel and full sizes, while Fenty Eau de Parfum ranged from travel to 75ml bottles.

Sephora also combines online shopping with UK stores, MySephora tiers and brand discovery. Its current fragrance-bottle recycling programme offers an in-store discount when an eligible empty glass fragrance bottle is surrendered and a new fragrance is bought, subject to exclusions, customer limits and no combination with other offers.

That is valuable only if you can use it in store. It does not apply online, to small samples, body mists, certain excluded brands or every bottle type.

Three fragrance directions to understand before buying

Floral lavender: YSL Libre

Lavender gives Libre an aromatic structure more commonly associated with fougère fragrances, while orange blossom supplies sweetness and radiance. The original EDP is the reference; Intense and Le Parfum move warmer and richer. If buying blind, do not assume loving one guarantees loving every flanker.

Sweet gourmand mist: Cheirosa 62

Pistachio, almond, salted caramel and vanilla make Cheirosa 62 immediately sweet, with jasmine and sandalwood helping it feel more rounded. The 90ml product is a perfume mist rather than an Eau de Parfum, so concentration and expected performance should not be compared directly with Libre.

White-floral gourmand: Good Girl

Good Girl contrasts bright opening notes and white flowers with darker coffee, tonka, vanilla and woods. The stiletto bottles make flankers easy to recognise visually but not necessarily easy to distinguish by name. Check whether the listing is original Good Girl, Very Good Girl, Blush or another edition.

Delivery and returns

Sephora UK currently lists free standard tracked delivery over £20 for qualifying UK orders, with paid next-day and a Premier option. MySephora Silver and Gold benefits can change delivery cost. Lookfantastic offers several delivery options and a Premier service, with thresholds and timeframes shown at checkout.

For change-of-mind returns, perfume should remain unopened, unused and resalable with seals intact. Sephora's current terms give a 28-day cancellation period subject to conditions and direct online purchases through its returns route rather than physical stores. Samples, travel sizes and blind buying

Fragrance is unusually risky to buy from notes alone. “Vanilla”, “rose” or “woody” describes an ingredient idea, not how the finished perfume will smell on skin after two hours. Prefer a sample, travel spray or store visit before buying a large bottle.

Sephora's mix of travel sizes and stores can help with discovery, while Lookfantastic frequently carries gift sets and multiple sizes. Check price per millilitre, but do not let a cheaper 100ml bottle persuade you to own 80ml of a fragrance you do not enjoy.
